Battle Report #2 - Antibiotic Massacre

Plague Marines got sadly trounced by a blood angels army. The general truly is a master of the game and I always learn a lot playing against him.

Tristement, les Plague Marines ont perdu contre les Blood Angels. Vraiment un maitre du jeu, mon adversaire m'a beaucoup appris.

Unfortunately this battle report will not be so detailed by way of photographs because I kept forgetting to take photos. The first photos were only taken in about the second or third round.

Malheureusement, j'ai oublié de prendre des photos durant tout le jeu alors il y a juste les photos de le 3ieme et dernière partie.

So the plan was that the heavies (Havoc Squad & Bucky) would plug away at the enemy from the rear, my OOP plague marine squad and Chaos Space Marine squad would roll up to the fortress in rhinos and vomit out their contents on the hapless defenders; namely a bunch of flamers and melta guns. With their icons, they would guide in the daemon princess and terminators safely adding a bunch more templates to mop up the mess.

Alors le plan a été que les lourdes (Havocs et Bucky) allaient tirés de loin en arrière et mes plague marines et Chaos Space Marine vont faire un assaut frontal sur le fortoresse avec leurs meltas et flamers. Finalement avec les "icons", ils vont guider l'arrivée de la Princesse Daemon.

The second pic shows how this plan went awry when the devastators popped my rhino open and I had to walk my plague marines the rest of the way. The chaos space marines made it but they were too weak to be of much consequence by themselves.

Le deuxième photo montre comment ce plan a été défectueux. Ses devastateurs ont planté le rhino de mes plague marines et même si mes Chaos SM ont atteint leur objectif, ils ont été trop faibles pour l'assaut que j'envisageai.

Meanwhile the Forgeworld squad was to seize the other side of the table in an aggressive forward rush. I abandoned my own objectives in favour of seizing and contesting his.

De l'autre côté, mon autre squad de plague marines ont fait leur assaut comme planifié pour contrer l'objectif de mon adversaire.

The first photo shows how this plan seemed to be working. However I missed the memo that space marines are largely impossible to kill with flamers. What worked so effectively against tau would not be so great here. Despite getting double-flamed and showered with bolter fire, the marines soldiered on. With the plasma cannon he was able to wipe out much of my plague marine squad denying them their Feel No Pain save.

La première photo montre comment mon plan semble marcher. Mais j'ai decouvert que mes flamers ne marchaient pas aussi bien contre les space marines que les Tau. Je n'ai pas infligé beaucoup de dommages et il m'a détruit avec un Plasma Cannon. J'ai été rapidement nettoyé sans mon "Feel No Pain save".

In retrospect, this plan was ridiculous. I abandoned all my objectives, I expected one squad to seize half the table and I opened myself up to 3 rounds of heavy fire as I tried to overwhelm the fortress, 3 rounds in which I couldn't do much damage and I would lose 80% of my units.

Rétrospectivement, mon plan était ridicule. J'ai abandonné mes objectifs, j'ai eu des faux espoirs que je pourrai contrôler une moitié de la table avec un squad et je me suis ensuite exposé à trois tours de tirs lourds sans opportunité d'endommager ses forces. Durant les 3 parties j'ai perdu un bon 80% de mes bonhommes.
